FROM SUPERINTENDENT MARY BRAYAK:

Dear Big Bay de Noc Community Members, Spring has arrived and although we have seen a bit more sunshine, we are still waiting for those warmer temperatures to arrive. Those of us living in the Upper Peninsula have learned that we must be patient with nature and enjoy any sunshine we might receive. Longer days give us hope for warmer days, as well.

As we move into the final weeks of school so many activities are planned into a very short time. Our spring sports are underway and our athletes participating in spring sports face the challenges of changing weather in the U.P. Golf, track and field, baseball, and softball give us opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities cheering on our student athletes. Hopefully, you will have the opportunity to enjoy one of the many athletic competition activities that spring time offers. We will also be able to enjoy our recognition program for all of our athletes.

This time of year marks the upcoming end of the school year for most students, but also the academic completion of high school for our seniors. Many activities will be taking place for our graduates which provide us with many opportunities to share in their successes and future plans. The end of the school year can seem like a blur for seniors and their parents and families. Although the time seems to travel at warp speed, taking time to enjoy the final few weeks of school and reflect on successful academic careers is an important part of the journey for our graduates and their families. We want to extend a special thank you to everyone who has helped in any way to support our seniors to reach this academic milestone successfully. Their graduation marks not only an important milestone for them, but also provides hope for the future. We take this opportunity to congratulate them and their families.

Many of our end-of-the year activities have already begun. Our Kindergarteners will also graduate and move to the next important phase of their education. In addition, we have many field trips, outdoor activities, and special days planned for the end of the school year. All of these special days and activities would not be possible without the continued support of our staff and our parents. Thank you for making all of these activities possible.

As the end of the year approaches, we encourage everyone to participate in and attend as many of these end-of-year activities as you possibly can. This is what makes our school so special and we appreciate everyone who helps in any way to support our students. Without you, it would not be possible. Without you, it would not be special. Without you, it simply wouldn’t happen. Thank you for making Big Bay de Noc School the special place it is to learn and play.

Have a wonderful Summer! GO BLACK BEARS!
